Member
maybe we can plan something… i wanna do a solo run on the 100cc before i leave for melb.
When? And when do you fly off to Melbourne. You may also want to hook up with Yu Jin… who’s going back to Sydney. He’s rather keen on the 100cc.

MemberI would like to know whether you guys would be interested in maintaining the same teams or have different drivers for each enduro event.
I would like to make the enduro series meaningful, and skewed more towards team strategy, and place more attention on total team weight. Would prefer to take 70kg as the average weight… so that a team of 4 should weigh 280kgs minimum.
We should also bear in mind the variability of rental karts and thus look into the possibility of swapping karts to balance the playing field a bit.
Give me your thoughts… and keep this discussion going.

MemberUh oh. I am not so sure about a myKART idol. *lol*
If this is the case then myKART’s own “Schumi” would win all the votes! *lol*
Can’t imagine a panel consisting Wai Leong or Raja Razman, Alex Yoong and Deanna Yusof saying “you are crap, your braking is all over the place, clearly you have no talent”…

Member
By the way, City Karting is open (except for 1st day of CNY)! Winter testing, anyone?
Grrr… too tempting to resist. See how. Would like to catch up with some of you guys for social chat. Been a while.

Member
anyway,it’s a good idea what ur reply, hope the K2 driver can help out on the K3 race…
thanks…
We shall have the K2 drivers observe both the K2 and K3 races.
In any case… I am not surprised Brian F (hope he is okay now, as he was complaining of some pain) could not avoid you. When somebody spins, there is very little time for the person behind to avoid the spinning kart. I’ve been in the situation before and broke my collarbone.

MemberSteward – I am disappointed that no one wanted to admit the error. I however believe that the onus is on the guy who is trying to overtake. Once a driver has spun, there is very little another driver behind can do to avoid.
It is difficult for me to judge as I did not see the incident, but I’ve always said that you need to give the other competitor sufficient room, especially if you are trying to pass him, but not fully alongside.
I agree that we need some observers. So I shall work on this as the next agenda item in our regular event. My thoughts are to have two drivers from K2 observe the event as it proceeds. The K2 drivers will rotate duties when they are not racing (or not about to race).

Member
OSF, wasn’t it that Schumi got beaten hands down last year in Nov during the Rally of the Champions?
I think Schumi got beaten by Heikki Kovaleinen (cannot spell)… I believe he is a formula racer though.

Member
Loeb is a good driver. I think he will adapt well to track racing as he is very good on tarmac. Very precise and no unnecessary sideways action. Did you guys catch the WRC 2005 Monte Carlo highlights? See how he negotiate those tight hairpins? Just a flick to point the car straight and so precise. Superb!
Superb and precise is the right words to describe his driving. I saw the way he negotiated the hairpins down the hills. Amazing, and very little drama. As I said, he is the Alain Prost of rallying.

MemberCool clip (just managed to see it)! Good stuff from Fabian and the excellent E30.

Member
so there will be 4 drivers x 45 minutes driving time each?
can make the starting grid a little more interesting too, all 4 drivers make a single lap qualifying lap each, and the combined time will decide the grid.i just happen to remember about the previously mentioned ironman race in sunway…is it still on???
Of course, we still need to work out the details… but yes: 4 drivers with 45 mins drive time each.
In relation to the grid order: this is not absolutely critical for enduro events, so my view is ballotted karts and mixed grids for each of the races. So you get a mixture of different karts and different grid positions.
I am not sure of the ironman race at sunway is still on. May need to check the kartquest website at http://www.kartquest.com.my/

Member
Last year the track was already up for sale / takeover. City Karting was offered too. Since Fairuz left karting to do F3/F3000, seems that Mofaz not keen on karting anymore.
Heard about that too. But sayang as Naza says. It is quite an interesting track especially on the 100cc.
TheFazz
Membersiew weng – you can ask citykarting to print out the lap by lap timings.

Member
…the carbon fibre helmet I saw in Melbourne a few months ago…
Whaaaa…. carbon fibre helmet. Super cool. Any chance you see a Gilles Villeneuve replica helmet (budget not more than RM2000), do let me know.

MemberOne good idea suggested by John is to have 3 x 1 hour enduros. So teams will swap karts to minimise “luck of the draw” factor.
