[quote=simon]Guys, all of you are taking this TOO seriously. Please, this is worrying…how la, to enjoy my-kart races, when all of you are ‘under’ weight, with running 2-3 times a week, winter testing (~70 laps !! – wha gila, man) for some, and OSF taking to eating ‘small’ burgers to loose weight.

K2 must institute ballast for all drivers under 74kgs !!! This must be the new rule for 2005. can ah ? Else, they start 2 laps down, on the slowest kart, in 80cc with 4 strokes, yes, the 2 seater variant, with a camera man in tow.

    [/quote]

What’s wrong with taking this seriously?

I am taking sports psychology sessions, and learning some PR work… “I would like to thank the crew at Citykarting, the Shah Alam Council, Dunlop etc etc”… 🙂

[quote=bazet]Thanks for the comments,Now I can consistenly clocked “13 and “14…using kart #3 …and I’ve noticed one thing, inthe late evening, where the temp is cooler, the kart is performing good drastically.

Learned some new techniques metioned in the topic, and it works great….like
~ keep the RPM high on the corner ( I just slammed teh brake and never release the throttle )
    ~ weight shifting
    ~ slow in fast out
~ tailgating and pushing the front opponent

My comments on kart #3 at City Karting 80cc ( time sheet it use #36 )
    – very fast from mid to high
    – no rear grip…have to turn early and let it slide a bit
    – moderate vibrating
    – suitable for ppl like me 180cm/75kg

Not targeting high “12 and constant “13..lucky me I have sparring partner that can go gila with me with this ultimate money spending hobby….[/quote]

Pretty good! As they say practice makes perfect. That will certainly help improve the lap times. Good that you are also joining the monthly KART series events. Racing technique and single lap shoot out technique are two different things.

I’ve not tried the new 4-strokers, but was informed by Citykarting a few weeks back that they were introducing the 4 stroke funkarts for newbies. I think the price is good. Not sure how the kart is like though. Appreciate some feedback. Was also wondering if a ladies or REAL rookies KART series on funkarts would be feasible?

[quote=OSFlanker]Since then I have lost 4kg by running twice a week for 30 mins each time. Every Sunday I wake up at 6:15 for a nice 30 min run, followed by 45 mins washing my car. I then try to squeeze in another running session in the middle of the week.

Of course, have to cut down on food (just take 3 normal meals a day), alcohol and late nights too!

    I admire your regime… alas when I weighed in at 70kgs, I was like… “oh well”… 😉

Don’t believe Azlan’s lies that he is losing weight… I am making sure that he puts on more… but the unfortunate side effect is I am putting on more myself… lol!

[quote=razmyn]sudah kena last friday…ordered the now burger for take away…when the girl handed over the bag…I had a look & spontaneously asked..”where’s the burger??”
she showed me & I laughed hysterically…is this all???
hahahahahaha…even the kids mini burger at secret recipe is bigger!![/quote]

How apt! Even the new KFC advert (the guy who lost his car), it ended with the guy wondering where his burger went! It is so small you can’t see it! lol

Been conned a few times, I’m afraid… and I never learn. The first was with the popcorn chicken or some such. My the whole thing was only palmsized!

As for the OR burger – yup. very small. been disappointed with KFC… but on occassion the kids like them, even though I cannot stand them for misleading consumers. Prefer Burger King myself.

The ZTH endurance event was a lot of fun. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Stanley who was also involved in the organising matters. Also thanks to Stanley and Titan for sponsoring stickers and the PIT BOARD! Our team – Tail Happy Racing – comprising Stanley, Dennis and I had good fun despite the kart failure which costed us 4 laps. We continued but was subsequently penalised a further 4 laps due to a decision I made to bring in our 2nd driver towards the end of the pit lane window -which we breached.

My own race was good fun. The kart we took over after the first one failed was okay handling wise – I could brake late and still turn in – but lacked straightline speed. As a consequence I had a very memorable dog fight with another driver for many laps until the chequered flag. A few times he would pass me on power and I would take him back on the corners. He tried a number of times at a variety of places, but I managed to steal the position back from him.

My most memorable moment came at the end of the old start/finish. We were both passing another driver. My sparring partner took the right and inner line and I had no choice but to go outside of the kart we were passing. At the turn I committed myself to the outside and stayed on the outside and took back the position exitting the corner.

Given the success & enthusiastic responses from endurance races, myKART will make it a regular feature in the normal myKARTing season. We shall have endurance events every quarter.

I think 1m 14s is respectable. You would need all sorts of factors to fall into place to get a better time.

    hey cyclonite!

welcome to the group. just as long as you don’t drift too much then I guess you’d be ok. I’ve made a habit of doing the tail end pitch, but when the kart handling sucks, I am all over the place and no where near the pace.

    [quote=”siewweng”]thank u for organizing it!!!!

maybe for the next enduro, can strench to 3 hours under foglights and darkness… :)[/quote]

    good idea… 😉

anyway – Azlan and I were thinking that we should have an enduro every quarter in addition to our nomal monthly events.

[quote=TheFazz]The previous version of the myKART website ( http://www.my-kart.org/html/ ) using the old PostNuke scripts ( http://www.postnuke.com/ ) was (I found) inflexible. Updating was quite a chore and not so convenient.[/quote]

In actual fact, the Postnuke design was very rigid and failed to separate content from design & layouts. Content creation was not consistent particularly when you wanted to create a blog, or a story or a forum post. Even the formatting filters such as bbcode was not implemented consistently throughout.
