to specifically answer your questions:

there are 10 rounds of the DRIVERS series (K3, K2 and K1) annually.

the next race is 10th April. go to the event posting and copy and paste your name to the list of participants. be careful with the table formats and not missing out other people though. see our event calendar too (again… top menu)..

you can pre-register him as participant for the K3 race this saturday. but do encourage him to get a site account, so that he can self serve.

the frontpage (http://club.my-kart.org/) should basically give the picture that my-kart is about the foundations of motorsport… making karting accessible to all, and developing talent into champions.

the “read me first” (http://club.my-kart.org/info), could be a first time / beginners introduction to my-kart. some visuals, that could communicate this is something like getting started ~ “starting a kart engine”, or “putting on the helmet / suit / glove”.

the “content list” http://club.my-kart.org/tracker are all the content updates, interactions on this site. perhaps a “newspaper” imagery?

the “event calendar” http://club.my-kart.org/event is all about the events. so perhaps an image of a “happening karting event”?

“my account” http://club.my-kart.org/user is for the personal profile of users on this site. so a more people centred imagery?

there are more pages in the sub sections. but this is to start the conversation.

i’ve made further changes to the site mastheads. took some Hi-Def images that i have in stock. however, these are temporary: i would like seek any volunteers to design some hi-def mastheads (965 x 118 pixels) that befits my-kart and each section of the website.

i made some changes to the site navigation menus…. hopefully for the better.

as you can see, the top menu bar has been vastly simplified. site materials are now grouped together into what is broadly 4 categories:

1. site introduction, read me first type information, any other information useful for those new to my-kart

2. content list which contains the latest posts, links to the images, forums etc

3. calendar of events for list of my-kart events and activities

4. personal account information

additionally, the side menu bars have also been re-configured to match the relevant pages you are visiting. for example, content related menus will be presented on pages where you are viewing content etc.

i have made these changes in line with some of the comments given by users at http://club.my-kart.org/info/design

i am yet to figure out how to simplify two other suggestions: (1) registration for the next event; (2) updated championship table.

i aim to book the current posted dates with Citykarting. for S1k and MME aspirants, fret not – i will book 2 reserve dates to give us a little more flexibility to shift our calendar once SIC finalises their dates. I would really appreciate if somebody can follow up on this.

the reserved dates in June and August 2010 are to allow for flexibility to drivers participating in the Sepang 1000km (S1k) and Merdeka Millennium Endurance (MME) races.

If S1k and MME falls on other dates, then we shall use the reserved dates for rounds 06 and rounds 08.

i would like to start booking these dates with Citykarting soon.
