The event starts from Thursday with scruitineering and non qualifying practices. Log-in to http://www.asiankarting.com/home.aspx for details.

If I’m not mistaken (need to check the schedule), I’ll be in Macau on Monday afternoon (10th) then Hong Kong (maybe Beijing too) and back to Macau on 12th.

…..Ikhwan being a rookie now understand what it takes to drive on a track with so much grip and highly competitive environment.

…….Next he will be participating in AKOC in Macau next week and end the season. I hope he will apply what he has learned from the world finals there as the track condition maybe similar.
I believe he has learned much and will do better in Macau. No pain no gain!
When is the Macau event? I’ll be in Macau next week.
It is the Dubai Autodrome circuit. I’m more familiar with the Jebel Ali track (although they are quite close to each other).

Not sure what karts they’re running in the vid but at Jebel Ali they run twin 175cc 4 strokes. Damn heavy lumps of metal, but awesome top speed. Also driver weight is not as important if you maintain speed 😉

not for me… you cannot flap your wings on the 100cc. Also it would be a lot more costly in comparison to 80cc

I do remember reading in the Sunday Star an article in which Jazeman stated his practice and qualifying time was reduced because he had gearbox problems… I believe he lost about 30 minutes of track time whilst getting it fixed… so, now it seems like the “fix” has got him in a “fix”!

I’d love to know more details and justification as to how a mere spring could enhance his performance and give him the edge against others…

I’m totally bloated on wings… just had 3×100 and 4×80 this afternoon. But the apetite is healthy and just maybe tomorrow afternoon I may be peckish again and Wednesday I’m thinking of 125’ing it as well. All wing feasters are welcome to join. BTW, I’ll let Bro Naza and Edwyn make their own confessions about today’s wings… ooopssss, given too much away already!

Heartiest congratulations to both drivers and parents. As highlighted and clearly demonstrated by the results achieved, success comes from teamwork and dedication, which obviously the perfect ingredients here.

I wish Ede and Ikhwan a long and fruitful success in the motorsports arena and likewise wish their respective parents the best in balancing what only they know is best for their kids (the balance between sports and education)!

    Good luck guys
