Whatever I have said was never intended to make anger to anyone. About RM 30000, I was not dreaming that I have it. The number was used so that it is easier to see which part has the highest importance, which is karting skill, karts, license or suit.
What I mean is that how much percentage for each factor.

About going to Shah Alam, my Dad has stopped me from going back to Shah Alam. The reasons are it is not safe for me to be there. And, who is going to pay for the damages if I damage any of the kart since I am from average family? I can’t afford to pay for the damages. If I ever mention anything about karting, he will be very angry of me. Yes. Yes. I am not quite able to convince my Dad yet.

In short, I was not dreaming, Jules. The posts I made here is to gain knowledge and will never be a subsitute for actual practice in a real go-kart. No doubt, the best way is go down track and race.

I really hope to clear any misunderstanding on my posts. Sorry for whatever I said. Thanks.
Alvin,

I am not angry at all but just dun want u disappointed even more while sitting on ur back! This group is the best thing u can find and the ppl here will genuinely help you get somewhere in karting.

But even then u cannot join…..citing all reasons. I think many of us here including me – understand that karting is not cheap and we all worry about damages as well. Shah Alam not safe? Taiping too I think if I hung around the lake at midnite….Your father dun let you? My wife never let me race too last time…..and I USED to hide all my trophies…..come on, please stop all this chat and drive!!!!!!

U see how ur thread leading to…..ppl talking abt JAIS and puasa. Please be serious to be taken seriously ok!

Btw, no one showed up at Shah Alam on Saturday….but I had a gala time testing with full data logging system in place. My mechanics were all making fun of me as my lap times varied by 0.5seconds……..target was 0.3 or less!!!! ( yes with fun karts all around too )

Anyhow – i went down 0.5 seconds by end of day and yes, it was hard work to even reach this….

Seriously, if I am there – we can do mock race and I have no qualms to show u around as long as you pay for your ride. I charge you nothing for showing u around….except laughs and smiles.

Mikko will the better bet at Elite, so go bug him….he he he

    Anyway, Selamat Berpuasa….

Mikko is local rep and distributer of Bell helmets, so a good price and service assured. For those serious about safety and looks, Bell are worthwhile look if you want non Jap options.

SA2000 ended in 2005, as I know it…..it goes for 5 years. So now, the thing to look for is SA2005.

Guys, all this standards and years matter only if you race seriously. Even then, my SA2000 is still useable so it depends how strict the organisers want to enforce it….
So, I don’t need to spend on go-kart courses to improve my skills? Just my-kart races? Which track provides the best go-kart courses? MORAC, Citykarting, Kartquest or other track?
    patience.

Young man – somehow, you are still dreaming….after all our private mails and posting here.

If there is a school you can attend and be world champion, I think you wun have a chance too cos it will fuly booked out and surely cost more than RM30000.

Karting is a SPORTS, you need talent, dedication, passion and HUGE money to get far and that also is no guarantee of success.

No, even with RM30000 in your hand, you will get nowhere if you dun come down from dreaming and jump into driving and that also I am sure MyKart drivers will surely swamp and beat you flat until you start pratising and stop posting such nonsensical threads and private mails!

Now, which part of the NO, dun you understand?

To my fellow Mykarters, sorry for the strong words but I am merely bring him back to reality.

Alvin – come to Shah Alam, I offer you a private coaching ONE session FREE. This is the 2nd time I offer you ok! Name your time and date.

    guys….

our local racers mainly patronise the service of 2 places….one fella has a run down shop lot along Sg Besi Road ( close to old MTC office, opposite MRZ ) and the other, the more famous Taymen….http://www.taymenairbrushing.com/

The latter is not cheap but does a professional job. Yes, cost RM1500 upwards. Think Alex does it with him.

A fellow racer says in Indonesia – you pay half the price for helmet painting…..

The ultimate is LUCKY DESIGN….based in Italy, I think and u do a google and see quality. Price, dun ask… and F1 drivers are his clients.

Naturally, all pricing is subject to your design but the bottom line is more air brushing, more expensive and exotic paints ( ie, chrome, gold ) more money as well….

In regards to safety, yes the thinner base paints affects the strength of the shell. Do the painters follow that? You ask him-lor.

You guys going racing seriously I guess…..but keep me posted, I may just paint up my helmet if price is rite.

    Fazz,

It takes EVERYONE to play their part in this…from the participants ( to make sure they present themselves & machine well ), to organisers ( to organise well, to promote event, allow free spectating ), to media ( to show support & advertise ) to sporting bodies ( to relax regulation, promote sports ) to finally sponsors…..to let everyone on top, get the CASH to run their thing. ( be it the driver or the promo bits )

Simple equation actually but all cogs are connected.

Yes, I can talk till cows come home too.

Ask urself – why should someone pay for your ride? If you can do all you list down, half battle won.
Try kerb on own kart? I will need money to buy one. 3000 laps? Money also? Loh… What to do? Jules, I know if you spread all your secret around, you will lose your edge. Okay, let keep that as your secret.

I had the PLEASURE of driving this car for almost 2 weeks! The sound of the engine is awesome and not, it’s not just the exhaust note…it’s the complete package.

If you can heel & toe this car – the car’s sound is a dream….

It needs some work and TLC but for an Alfa enthusiast, this is a worthy project…..

Yes, you kerb the front LEFT wheel and the key word is try to do it late so u will exit as straight as possible to maximise speed for next section…..

Btw – I do kerb my own kart at some place so it’s not true to say all kerbs are not mountable…….you have to know which ones you can without damage to ur kart and most of all – which ones help in a faster lap…that one secret-lah….do >3000 laps and u know. he he he

When we dun encourage kerbing for rental karts, the reasons are clear esp since u likely drop ur chain, break ur disk and also hurt ur ribs……if u do it wrongly or at wrong places.

My advise to OSF was for his private 125cc kart…

3 years old is too young and there’s no kart that will fit plus in addition I do not think they comprehend what their eager parents wants of them, or even understand fully how to control a kart with responsibility.

Puffo’s are for 5 years old, I believe and they are one or two lying around in the workshop – all belonging to private owners.

All is not lost – put them in the 2 seater, drive them around and see if they like it. You may be surprise they don’t.

Otherwise, start them on PS2 or PC car simulation games….

Nohad….discount cards came and went and this started 5 years ago…..
