RR Parilla tyre Medium compound. Bought it from 911. Tires not suitable for Karting. Got cheated..
JJ, care to describe a bit more on why you thought its not suitable? Boy, I was also contemplating to buy it these few days. Traction not enough relative to another brand? Maybe it slides without much warning perhaps? What was it bro?
… the track is getting bad especially outside the apex..
there are a deep hole there when the drifter try to catch their front tires to the apex.. erghhh !!
Yak! I hate to think what might happen to new karters or those unfamiliar with the track. Pan Global and especially Alex Yoong….what did they say? The track is safe enough?
It will be a great shame if all of this is true, and that XtremePark will be closed down. At one point we had 5 kart circuits in the Klang Valley, and now potentially down to 3 (Shah Alam, Sepang and Elite)… but even Elite is an unknown quantity.

Would anybody know if Raja Razman plans to move elsewhere?
Fazz,
Very sad indeed for the karting fraternity if it is really closing. Will try to find get more info on this. Pan Global will have to replace Extreme Park with other venues ( Coincidentally they have other venues thsi year). I see a vision when mykart will someday run some circuit).. (very wide grin).

The operator either out of ignorance ( doubt it..) or just due to plain irresponsibility must take the blame for drifters tearing the pavement. Firstly, what was the track designed for? Was it for karting or for loads up to and including cars?. The average weight for a kart and driver is about 180 kg and the medium size car with driver about 1000 kg, so thats about 5 times more. Simply put, the track was not designed for higher than designed loads and drifting would really punish the road surface at the cornors. Pouring water on the surface would mean soaking the road resulting in a “softer” road and will than cause the road surface to break up even earlier. You will notice similar situations on public roads after a downpour especially where overloaded lorries passed through.

……A team which is 10kg lighter than the minimum weights would potentially be docked 3 laps by the end of the 2 hour race.
Meaning pontentially penalised 6 laps at the end of the 2 hr race if the team is 20 kg lighter than 280 kg. Man, thats a lot ! Given the relatively high driving skills seen in previous races, I would imagine it to be almost impossible to be ahead of any team by that margin (more so if the kart is sucks!) even after 2 hrs. Habis laa…!! I just hope that light drivers will not be left out in the future ? Hopefully not, if we can find a another way of handling this. Meanwhile it would be interesting to see the outcome.

I was talking to Razak, Azmee and a few others about being keen to to give a go for this year’s Pan Global Alex Yoong F1 Driver Search (PGAYF1DS). All seem to agree that mykarters should spread themselves out to theoretically increase their chances of qualifying for the Grand Finals in December. Some thought of participating in races to be held in Ipoh, Penang or KT on the assumption that these places would not offer to much competition, although I would’nt count on that.
I suggest a max of 5 mykarters for each meet? (a little bit of arrogance here). So, maybe those interested to have a shot in PGAYF1DS could register on this Forum. Razak wants to attack the Penang field and Azmee for Ipoh. Anyone keen on making a trip to KT than? Wonder why they have not included Kuala Pilah in the list. Dont they know that the extremely twisty S’ban – KP road is where many talented F1 wannabees ( Alex Yoong included) got their skills from. Ask him laaa…..!!

Unfortunately, I don’t think it is going to be so easy. I remember Hafidz last year was very pissed to draw a crappy kart and could not qualify.
Fazz, towards the end of last year, there were about a dozen new karts purchased and in fact was used for the Grand Finals and a few qualifying finals before that. It was unfortunate that Huffiz and others in the earlier rounds were using them “scrapyard karts” I would say. The new karts should still be in reasonably good condition cos its not for rental although there is no guarantee. Mykart front runners should not have too much trouble qualifying for the G Finals I dare say. Go for it dudes!!!

Its only round 1 but would like to see more mykarters show off their skills in the coming rounds. Suggest that mykarters to spread out over the coming rounds to increase the chance to be in the final five of each round. Happy racing!!!

    Bro,
Look at the following extract form PanGlobal website:

    ENTRY FEES
    • Rd. 1 to Rd. 10: RM100.00 per entry for any of the Qualifier rounds (for first time participants in 2005).
    • Rd.1 to Rd. 10: RM50.00 per entry for any of the Qualifier rounds for repeat participants for the 2005 series
    • GRAND FINALS: FREE for all qualifiers of the GRAND FINAL
    • All eligible entries for each Qualifier round are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis and when any Qualifier round is oversubscribed, the Organisers will assign oversubscribed entries to any of the subsequent rounds.

Now, that dont look like RM 200 at all and RM 50 for repeats… ok no?
Really nuts! N the karts there like s**t! I really can’t believe it paying rm200 for a 4 stroke kart
Dude,
RM 200 for two 5 qualifying races (5 laps per race was it?) and not sure that you will be in for the final ten at the end of the day, that’s not encouraging for new talents to come forward is it? It smells like if you are good than you can afford RM200. This is a sure away of reducing the competition and more coming to my-kart races. Fazz, look out man, new inquiries on my-kart races is on the rise!
