Guys, we have a request from Ashraff that he wants to enter a team on his own! Apparently he has no friends..
Fellas,
No friends?…I dont buy that. In my view, his request to run solo is not fair to others. However, I can support this request on condition:

1) If we cannot include him in any team at the close of registration

1) This is a one-off permission and will not be taken as a precedent for future races.

2) His finish is excluded from the race

3) He should pay at least my-kart’s cost.

Folks,

Suggestion for a my-kart committee to approve upgrading of drivers’ category (k4 to k3 or k3 to k2 / k1) .

Essentially, the committee (for now called My-kart Selection Committee), is a panel of three drivers within the k2 and k1 group comprising as follows:

Lead Assessor : any my-kart committee member (k1/k2)
Assistant Assessor 1: any k2 / k1 driver (may not be a member)
Assistant Assessor 2: – ditto –

The committee above will subsequently report to the my-kart main committee on its decision.

The committee above can still function in the event if only one assistant is available at the time of assessment.

Assessment of drivers may be done during any chicken wings session.
hi, probably this is a slight off the topic..

if im interested to join K2 next year…so how do i go about..? but not as soon as in January, maybe some time early next year..
…very simple really, let us observe you handle the 100cc on any chicken wings session. Tell us when you are ready Emmy.

There is no formal selection or approval committee just yet but in the past we just need at least 2 or 3 senior karters in the k2 and k1 category to vouch (sokong) for driver’s competency.

Having said that, the the top 10 (or was it 15 Fazz?) k3 points finishers are automatically invited to join the k2 series 2008.

…welcome ladies!….abang zul, watch out! 🙂

Folks,
The club’s paid members eligible for the CRG 125 / K1 race is as below:

K1 – 14 drivers (including Patrick and Afiq Ikhwan)

K2 – 7 drivers (including Jason and Razmyn)

The rest are in the K3 and K4 group.

So we have theoretically about 17 drivers in k1 and k2 who can potentially have the competence to drive the 125 regularly. However, thru past records only the following can be expected to sign up for races regularly marked “yes” imo:

1. Zul – yes
2. Luen – yes
3. Fazz – yes
4. Azlan – yes
5. Naza – yes
6. Tarmizi – yes
7. Patrick – no (overseas)
8. Yusnee – yes
9. Bombe – maybe
10. Mumu – yes
11. Afiq Ikhwan – maybe – (AAM licensing issue)
12. Razmyn – once in a blue moon (overseas)
13. Wei Li – maybe
14. Azmee – maybe
15. Ashraff – yes
16. Mark -yes
17. Raymond – maybe
18. Edy – maybe
19. Yip Yen – maybe
20. Isk M7 – yes
21. Jason – maybe (Singapore)

So, only 11 drivers or there abouts plus maybe a few more k3 buayas upgraded next year.

Question : Will k2 pool be severely depleted?

– Invitiational – There may be times when experienced karters want to join a race -> I propose this can be with the committee’s approval if one off, and if long term,. they should be members and given the highest experience status subject to committee. Eg, what if Ede wanted to join our race, for example….or other experienced karters from overseas, etc..

Ok,…gotta go 4 a meeting! will add more thoughts later.
Yes agreed if its a one-off situation or upon my-kart invitation.

Luen,

1. If a team is not satisfied with their kart, allow the change AFTER the Qualifying session has ended. In addition, the team will lose some positions (decision?) as penalty….F1 style laa!

…the team will start last.

Are we using this rule?

Oh btw guys,

Are we still keen on running the CRG 125s on the same day or shall we do it separately? In my view, lets do it on a separate day cos its quite a job for us old bones to worry about 10 other karts and besides its not free !….unless AP insists to run it as a promo and its FOC!….fat chance eh!

Luen,

Ballast : It appears that we have enough weight ballasts after I ‘ve checked with AB.

Fallback plan: Lower the minimum weight rule from 70kg to say 67kg but this can only be finalised after drivers registration and weighing is done.

Secondly, we need to inform drivers to come early for reg. and weighing procedures. Maybe the following schedule can be posted:

0830 – Registration (+ weighing)
0900 – Drivers Briefing
0930 – Kart Balloting
0940 – Ballast & Transponder installation
1000 – Practice & Qualifying start – 10 mins.
1015 – Final kart adjustments
1030 – Grid and Start

Please amend where required.

– the kart set up was….none. Due to the power delivery of the Junior Max engine, your kart will snap into oversteer easily mid corner esp with these tyres. So best to have more grip at rear.

– yes, ballast is needed for this class cos otherwise, dun bother cos you wun get a equal racing anymore.

cheers,
jules
Yes, everybody who had tested it experienced the oversteer situation and for this class, we will use ballast.
