…..and Kubica passed Alonso to add salt to his wounds…ouch! Kubica’s final pit stop gave Alonso back his 3rd spot…luckily!

by the way… why do we need to include the 70kg constant in the team weight & average?
I believe Luen has assumed that 70 kg is the 80 cc kart’s average weight for now…but are we going to weigh the karts on raceday? If thats the case, I would suggest to weigh the karts immediately after chequered flag for only the top five finishers cos its not necessary to weigh all karts. Of course, those exceeded the minimum weight will automatically be DQ ‘ed.

    …confessions of a my-karter albeit a very desperate one…….

In spite of very hectic 3rd hari raya obligations, its tak boleh tahan anymore when there were news of an equally desperate friend making a hasty bee line to the track.

…man! that was very satisfying as we let loose ourselves unashamedly on 80s and 100s more than a few times, at times cutting queues I thought? Edwyn suddenly appeared (after work he said!) to join the chicken wings and I’ll be damned if he did’nt enjoy it.

….pssst, I saw AP’s face broke into a broad smile as we wear our helmets…..good times are back eh?
Alonso to join Renault in 2008
    Friday October 12, 2007
BERLIN, (AFP) – The double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso will leave McLaren-Mercedes and return to Renault next year, the German newspaper Bild will report in its Friday edition.

Alonso has signed a contract for three years from 2008 with Renault where he won his two world championships before moving to McLaren-Mercedes in 2007. However, in last few months, Alonso’s relations have deteriorated badly with the McLaren team of Ron Dennis and in particular with British team mate Lewis Hamilton.

Alonso finished second in Sunday’s Chinese Grand Prix and is now just four points behind the championship leader, Hamilton, heading into the final race of the season in Brazil. 🙂

Looks like 2008 gonna be more interesting ey.. 😉
…very interesting with 3 way fight….something worthwhile to wait for.
Sorry guys, it’s been a while since I checked teh threads and quite a lot has been going on. Please do count me in to assist with the chicken wings sessions. It will be an honor and GREAT PLEASURE to be a part of this!

Should we nominate a “Wing Commander”? If so, I forward a vote to Wing Commander Naza. I’m sure the “chicks” can play a role too!
Guys,
Naza, I talked to CK today about the weight ballast thingy.

They do not have that much if we go option 2. The most they can provide is around 20 plug kg. Wanxin will get back to us about the putting ballast on the rental kart.

With option 1, the most add is about 3 to 4 kg the most if minimum requirement 70 after plus constant 70. If we lower the minimum requirement 70 to 68, then i think lots of team does not need to add weight…..

    68 then?
Luen,
Lets keep it at 70 for the moment until you get Wan Shin’s feedback on the ballast thing. Lowering it to 68 or less will eventually mean that the ballast added is getting much lesser to the extent that it may no longer be of much difference to the driver……in my view.

Using weight ballast (option 1)is perhaps the best way to equalise the competition due to weight variations. However, adding ballast would cause the 80 cc karts to have slower acceleration (especially when exiting slow cornors) and those unlucky to have drawn slow ” karts” will be very frustrated. Ballast used in 125cc karts are ok due to their higher power / torque. I guess, we can live with the slower acceleration as this is suppose to be an endurance race rather than a sprint race.

Bro, we need to check with CK about adding ballast to the 80 cc karts, otherwise its back to time or grid position penalties.

yazid…oraitttt…i’ll try to be there with my camera…hopefully i’ll have my new D300 by that time…

BTW…where can I get the Team Shirt for Team Malaysia…i have 1 for the 2005 finals at Lanzarote…bought it at mofaz kartshop in tmn tun…dunno if i can find for this year’s shirt tho…
You think the D300 will be available by then? Do you want to be the official Team Malaysia photographer and the official KartingAsia.com photographer? If yes let me know and I’ll make sure you get a media pass so you can go track-side for pictures… if you do that I’m sure there’ll be a shirt somewhere. 🙂
…I can vouch that Capt. Razmyn will easily exceed your expectation as an official team Malaysia / KartingAsia photographer. You took pics of speeding karts, he took pics of speeding camels. You pilot karts and he pilots B777. 😀
