looking at the safety reasons.. if a person is racing in an uncomplete attire, this smells danger isnt it?
Friend,
Be it F1, MotoGP, motorbikes, cars, becha, bicycles or anything that move for that matter including karting, it can be dangerous. In my-kart, we promote racing with Safety as No. 1 consideration always. Therefore, dont be surprise if you see almost everybody in rd 8 fully attired from top to toe in protective racing gear (some may look like models?…why not!)…they say kalah tak apa, style mesti ada…so be it.

Right, at least wear long pants (jeans are good) and long sleeve top (the thicker the better).

On the last lap, I’m not sure if I bumped wheels with someone from my-Kart or was someone else and then got lifted onto his kart(right after the wet patch after the esses). If it was anyone here, I’m sorry I held my line

So, do tell me what are the dos and don’ts of wheel to wheel karting?
Thats what happened when wheels come in contact. Believe me my-karters have over the years seen wheel contacts with serious consequences. Therefore, please DISCIPLINE yourself to avoid wheel to wheel contact at all cost[b]. Wheel to wheel racing is great fun but its done with a lot of trust and full readiness to avoid contact….especially when my-karters are your friends (some has regarded it a brotherhood bond over the years).

FYI, it’s been a year or so since I last karted on Shah Alam. So i did notice a few things missing. Plenty of curbs have been taken off – was this for safety sake or so that the public karters will stop destroying the underbody of the karts as they ride the curbs
Yup, its more of CK’s way of minimising damage to their karts.

Who’s Jazeman? Was he there yesterday? I’ll be sure to speak to him this coming Sunday. 1:14-1:15s quick? I seriously thought I was slow when I saw the times of 1:10-1:11…..
1:14 – 1:15 is certainly nothing to be sneezed at. I had to pull out all the stops to get close to you last Sunday. Jazeman is a 15 year old lad who started karting when he was 8 or maybe younger. He is now racing in Formula BMW Asia under Team Meritus. Check him out at http://www.afos.com[/i%5D
From memory there’s no weight penalty for being light
Driver weight is quite critical in sanctioned organised kart races. There are minimum weight requirenments below which your win will be disqualified.
naza, how much would AP normally charge if we want to rent their CRG? I was thinking of having a half day practice on it …
Bro,
No rental rates were published for renting 125cc karts as yet. Its really a one to one request and the only thing I remembered was that they want assurance that the driver is competent to at least handle a 100cc kart plus some testimony by a regular CK karter.

No matter, just approach AP one on one on that day.

There seem to be quite a few my-karters keen on wanting to experience what its like to bang around the track on a 125 cc kart. I conveyed this to CK’s boss with the intention to find out whether a 125cc kart can be rented for a special price for my-kart’s sake. His special offer is as follows:

CRG Road rebel Racing kart + PRD 125cc Air cooled @ RM 70.00 for 10mins.

This is a one off offer and can be ready for rent immediately after My-kart Round 8 race on 19th August next week. Interested?….list your name below:

    1. Iski (confirm…???)
    2.
    3.
    4.
thanks bro naza.

the categories look ok. although i think fizah is strong potential K2, methinks. and i need to register my 3 kids for K4… Nurhannani, Muhammad Faiz and Muhammad Saiful. Please remind me.
Fizah privately has practiced on 100cc as well as on the 125cc occasionally. Lemme talk to her. I will include your 3 kids in the list above provisionally into k4. Please let me know their IC numbers if they already have one.

Question on Yazid (Ikhwan’s dad) :
Shall we put him into K3 or just leave it empty. Talked to him a few times but dont think he will do any karting at all.

I am no Jedi but we at my-kart have a mission to provide an environment of friendly and affordable competition. You dont have to ask (or jangan malu to ask), just be with us whenever you can and the my-kart Jedi(s) will be at hand to guide and help FOC. 🙂 😎

    Dude,
If you can handle a 100cc kart, you can also handle a 125cc after a few laps of familiarisation on it. There is nothing to stop you from renting 100cc karts which is available at CK, Elite and Sepang. After that join us in K2 laaaaar……!
there is so much gap to chase to get myself to 1:14-1:15.. whats the secret? is there a special line?
Dude,

There is no secret, as evident from the many competent karters out there able to do that range of laptimes. Simply do this:

    1) Get any my-kart Jedi to go with you on the 2 seater yellow kart to learn the lines. (who is the Jedi?….check the previous Race series results laaa!)

    2) Than, get the Jedi (or a female Jedi…if you like!) to lead and you follow and vice versa….he/she and you will have plenty to talk about at the end of each session.

    3) Than practice,…practice,….practice…practice…until your Jedi clocked you doing 1:14 – 1:15 in my-kart K3 race series. At this point, its perfectly normal, if he / she become becomes quieter and you know you have arrived….!

    4) Finally, join the chicken wing runs…….got it?
