wow…congrats Naza. Thanks for your hard work and patience in this area. This is a truly historical moment, and has come at a good time for my-kart, after a great season and season ending event last Sat! would have been icing on the cake if we had this good news on Sat, but hey, better late than never! (I wonder if the sports commissioner was around the track on Sat…chatting up the angels perhaps??)

Anyway, i think we should let Fazz send out an official announcement to the group, on what this means to my-KART and how it benefits my-Karters for the future.

To me, it means that we have a clear governing structure to run the club, recognised, and can keep a set of accounts, and members can play a bigger role in steering the direction of my-kart, how we spend funds (more for angels?, more K2, go for K1?etc etc)and governed through a constitution and voiced annually at the AGM, etc……I suppose we can play a bigger role to influence the sports bodies, AAM, etc…as well..

Anyway, I’ll leave it to Fazz to send out his year end message!
Correct bro,
Let the interim President (Fazz) do his thing as all Presidents should do for the year end. Yes, yes better angels…oops!..never mind that now…hehehe.

Sabelt, this is a significant milestone for all mykarters as we have now a face and it is a legal and bona fide entity. It means, we can represent our members and talk motorsports to any Government , AAM or any governing bodies but we have to behave too. Previously we are a set of Mat kart harams in a …….pssst…haram club…but not anymore!…..Enough said, wait for the President’s state of the union address……peeeeergh!
They say with that kind of money, they can buy small diamond earrings (to me it is just stone only what!) or nice leather handbags. Betul tak bpk Naza?
Look around, except for Yazid’s and perhaps a few more, wives are literally missing from the scene. For me, racing and its cost is not a subject to discuss with my missus. Its the same when she buys a new handbag and matching shoes to add to the cupboard which has already scores of the same thing. You see, things like these do not always have a logical explanation for it……..thats the beauty (poor Alvin, wonder whether he can follow this).

KI series as a means to upgrade driving, maintenence and setting up skills:

It is not too difficult to see that there is no way to learn and upgrade one’s skill if you do not have your own kart. I found that there was a limit to the extend I and Tarmizi can share a kart. First, we are physically different and hence the seating size and position from the steering wheel and pedals. To complicate matters, your weight and how far you sit back or front has an effect on how the rear behaves when brakes are applied and when powering out of the cornor……..bla bla bla, etc, etc etc! .After that you have to experiment with different settings and record them cos thats how we can improve…..there are books on this. In other words, you can’t do these things with rented karts and so improving one’s karting skills on or off track is going to be an uphill task guys.

Sorry , but I dont see a short cut to preparing mykarters to progress higher in terms of karting skills. I guess to me the most important question is how high are each individual aiming for…that will lead to the big decision.
Guys..!!! it was an eventful day i should say. Such a stress relieving event especially with the addition of the grid gals.. emmm yum yum.. What say u feekey ( ada kaler putih ka )???

Neway, i must reckon that it was a day to remember, so funful yet competitive. A BIG THANK YOU to all who made it possible especially to BIG Bro Naza and Patrick (Nohad). Without tis event, some may still be bitting their finger nails wandering how the 125cc may feel.

I must also admit that though some of us who drove the 125’s for the first time but in that weather condition and tyre, all drove equally best and handled it as pros without any incident.

    Kudos..

…This is my-kart ‘s first ever attempt at holding a k1 (125cc) race and like Jules said, the logistics prep work behind the scene is really something to experience (thanks to Patrick too). But man, what a pleasant surprise to have 14 drivers which exceeded expectation ( we thought at the most 8 would commit), out of which 8 karts were rented.

The next step is to get members views whether to proceed with next season K1?

Also thanks and deepest appreciation to all mykarters for the exemplary spirit of giving a lot and taking back very little if not none…..clap, clap, clap!

1 set of new Apexis 65 tyres

The tyres you be using will be a shock to most of you. No grip on braking, no grip on acceleration. Hence the 15min practise is important.

Btw, to get a timing for qualifying, you need transponder which I hope is included in pricing.
Tried out the MW/Rotax Max with Apexis 65 tyres today.

Verdict : OMG! Where’s the grip?

There is so much power on the kart but not much grip and you are practically playing drifting on the parabolic! It’s going to be a field day for the video filmers.

Yup, transponders will be provided for the 125cc & 80cc endurance karts.
hehe is going to be K1 or D1 ???!!

    ———————————-
    neat, balance and practical
Apart from Jules and Patrick, Ashraf also “had fun” drifting at the parabolic on these tyres…seem to be quite a master at it……see Ashraf!
No-lar, all in the name of fun and supporting the concept and you guys.

Btw, I will NOT see my kart till this Sat morning ok……so I dunno what will be prep for me and how she runs!
Jules,
I was told by AB that you are renting the Parilla powered kart. Is this correct?

Secondly, since you will only see us on Race day, could you please ensure that AB has your weight+gear and tell him if you need to add ballast.

This mechanic guy named Kok Seng at CK, was commenting on my helmet when he casually said he had a brand new Arai SK5 (for karting) for sale and asked me whether I am interested to try it for fitting. I said no thanks as I am fine with what I already have. Ask him directly if you are interested (RM1700, I thought he said).

I wonder what it would look like if the chequered flag is square instead of the circle as shown. The black square will certainly stand out if the T-shirt or cap is white or of lighter shade but will not be visible against black or dark blue for instance.
