I dont understand it. The preview comment does not seem to work since yesterday. My comments to Amalin’s post failed to appear. Anyway, the following was the content. Something I didnt do right perhaps?

Sat13th is full with corporate events running in the morning and afternoon unless we wish to squeeze in between these events…..not to keen lah! Sunday 14th look good but very busy. Anyway we (naza, tarmizi & hafizah) plan to be there at about noon and will be happy to assist. Who else is coming on Sun 14th?

By the way, there are only two cadet karts available at the moment. AP wants to check out the demand before preparing more karts I suspect.

or hers…
ok quick question b4 i actually bring my daughter(s) to the track…
i don’t know about the cadet karts (never actually seen one up close), but are they similar to the normal 4-stroke fun karts (besides being obviously smaller in size)?
because i’ve driven the normal 4-stroke fun karts and they are god-awful heavy on the steering… and i don’t want my daughters to be put-off by this…
cheers!
Ed,
the 4 stroke fun karts we have driven in Sunway and Elite tracks were meant for Scharwznegger type bodies. These 4 stroke 50 cc smaller cadet karts should be light enough having watched some kids driving it in recent days. Perhaps Rizal’s son Aiman can shed a bit more light on “heavy steering” assuming he had driven these karts.

absolutely great guys!!!

so, when do we gather the first “k4” runs? should we not make it together with our regular meets? cost = rm10 for 10 minutes is just awesome! (i was charged rm30 before this!!! pity the kid!) rm20 for parents to accompany is awesome also.

so, lemme be the first!

My name : Rizal Khalid
Child name : Aiman Rizal
Age : 10

great guide. i note that turn 10 is taken quite close to the inner curbs – on occassion, i find it faster to run slightly deep and then take a late apex on the way to exit. views?

——————————————————
http://www.thefazz.com/me%5B/quote%5D

hmmm..for me fazz…i would take the later apex like u mentioned there but if i have some1 like razak behind me who is ready to out brake me,i rather clip the first apex to shut my racing line….kinda a defensive line i would say. no doubt by taking a later apex and your exit line pointing straighter u could get a faster exit speed and less kart movement aka smoothness ..true ??
Son, I have given up doing what u did above, cos he has no qualms about passing me on the outside….thankfully that happened only once quite awhile ago….hehehe!

Update on Discussions between my_KART members (Naza, Muhaymin, Patrick, Tarmizi) and AP of CityKarting, summarised as follows:

1) Our kids should take the first step of familiarisation and basic skills development with the slower 4 stroke engine cadet karts before upgrading to the faster 80 cc karts.

2) Depending on the rate of progress of each child, changing to the faster 80 cc karts can be made on request. CK can prepare 80 cc cadet karts quite easily.

3) Currently, two 4-stroke cadet karts are available for rent at RM 10 per 10 mins and RM 20 for the parent wishing to accompany the child on a 80cc kart. This nice rental rates are valid for my-KART members only (currently those registered on this website until membership IDs are issued). Please state your name and child name below for us (committee members) to inform AP.

4) CK will prepare more 4 stroke cadet karts if the demand warrants it but only after 16th Jan 07 (apparently he is not around before that).

Your name :
Childs name
Age :
Date / Time : Saturday…../ 11.00 am – 1.00 pm (Especially for first timers. The afternoon will be riskier due to the presence of very fast 80/ 100 / 125 karters on the track unless your child is not a newbie.

Note: For now the above is verbal and will need to get AP to reconfirm the special rate for mykart members. Single sessions will be the same as for regular karters.
thanks naza. this looks good!

Managed to discuss a bit with AP on our kids using cadet karts (Mitsubishi 4 stroke engine, will run for ages). He is adamant that he has more cadet karts in his workshop and just waiting for myKart’s confirmation. Currently I saw one kart running and one more under repair at the parc ferme.

He indicated that he wish to help kick start our cadet karting and charging almost nothing for the kids to practice initially (the businessman talking again..!). However, he recommended the kids to practice on weekdays and avoid busy tracks on weekeneds for increase safety in view of much faster 80 /100 / 125 karts flying around. Its a valid point but how many of us can be free on any weekday is something to think about.

Assuming 5 or 6 cadet karts are available by next week and parents can find time to get their kiddos to practice on weekdays or weekeneds (if possible), we can have my_kart’s first ever k4 or cadet race in February 2007….another chapter made…hehehe!

Folks,
Got “verbal agreement in principle” from AP this afternoon about cheaper 80 cc karting:

Walk in karter : RM 35 per 10 mins.

Regular karter : RM 30 per 10 mins (if he likes you but not guaranteed every time)
or RM 150 for 5 sessions of 10 mins each.

my-KART member (must show my-KART membership ID) : RM 100 for 5 sessions of 10 mins each. There are no restrictions with regards to how to use the 5 sessions, only pay in full upfront…….no otang ah!

Note: For now the above is verbal and will need to get AP to reconfirm the special rate for mykart members. Single sessions will be the same as for regular karters.

Folks, let us gauge the enthusiasm level for our kids or your friend’s kids to start karting before we surprise the daylights out of AP!…. Even though my kids dont fit no more into cadet class karts, I still do have many friends that have kids that does…hehehe! If you dont mind the list could possibly start as follows:

1. Fazz’s (at least one qualified – I saw)
2. Muhaymin’s ( a bit too early eh?)
3. Luen’s (dont know)
4. Patrick’s (two boys?)
5. Razak’s (that kid was around quite a while)
6. Rizal Khalid’s (one?)
7.
8.
9.
10.

What a sight to behold…..Uncle Jules leading the cadets round the track with some proud parents (some wear worried looks for sure!) onlooking. Yeah, that will be the day!
